Northwest Missouri State trailed Central Oklahoma 8-0 less than three minutes into the game Saturday afternoon, but the Bearcats turned the tables quickly and hammered the Bronchos 90-68.

The 'Cats (10-1) went on a 17-2 run to take the lead for good after starting the game 0-3 shooting with two turnovers in the opening sequence. Northwest turned the slow start into a stand-out opening half offensively putting up 51 points on 58-percent shooting.

Ryan Hawkins continued his torrid pace scoring 23 points, going 6-8 on threes, and grabbing a season-high 17 rebounds. That is one shy of his career-high in boards, which was 18 back on November 19, 2018 against Illinois-Springfield. For the week, Hawkins averaged 26.5 points and 11 rebounds per game in wins over Newman and UCO.

Trevor Hudgins and Diego Bernard weren't far behind Hawkins with big days either.

Hudgins put up 20 points, 9 assists, and 5 steals. Bernard scored 16 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

Northwest hits the road next week. The Bearcats play at Lincoln Thursday at 7:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 7pm.
